How do I provide payment?	BEF Wind, Solar, and Wind & Solar Energy Offsets products are purchased by card or check. If you are purchasing these products to offset your electricity use, you will continue to pay your electricity service provider for electricity charges.
How is my Carbon Offset payment calculated?	Each BEF Wind Energy Offset and BEF Wind & Solar Energy Offset represents a reduction of a minimum of 1,500 pounds (approximately 0.7 metric tons) of carbon dioxide-equivalent. There is a minimum purchase of one BEF Wind Energy Offset or BEF Wind & Solar Energy Offset. Beyond this, the product can be purchased in 1/10 increments (i.e. blocks of 150 pounds of carbon dioxide-equivalent). Each BEF Solar Energy Offset represents a reduction of a minimum of 1,295 pounds (approximately 0.6 metric tons) of carbon dioxide-equivalent. There is a minimum purchase of one BEF Solar Energy Offset. Beyond this, the product can be purchased in 1/10 increments (i.e. blocks of 129.5 pounds of carbon dioxide-equivalent). Since BEF is a non-profit organization, you may choose to designate your payment as a tax-deductible contribution. The price of BEF Wind, Solar, and Wind & Solar Energy Offsets products vary by the quantity purchased.
What are these carbon offset products?	These are greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction products. It represents the reduction of a specific quantity of GHGs. By purchasing a BEF Wind, Solar, or Wind & Solar Offset, you alone have the right to all associated claims about the environmental benefits it embodies. The product is to be regarded as a real environmental commodity, not an investment in a future project. However, if you do not need to take title to the product for your own use, BEF can retire the GHG emissions on your behalf, and your payment may be a tax-deductible charitable contribution. The GHG emission reductions you purchased are sourced from verified projects. Your purchase of the product stimulates market demand for emission reduction projects, leading to more projects that can help mitigate the effect of climate change.
What fuel sources will be used to generate my Carbon Offsets?	BEF Wind, Solar, and Wind & Solar Energy Offset products are sourced from 100% new wind and solar energy sources. See the product content label section for more information. Information on specific sites is available on the BEF web page. The product content label represents the prospective mix of resources that will be used to supply your offset purchase. The actual percentages or metric tons of GHG emission reductions by type may vary by a small percentage. In the case of a significant variance, we are obligated to provide you with more accurate historical disclosure.
